Special Features of the Nintendo Wii
Nintendo Wii Tip! The Nintendo Wii console supports a plethora of peripherals. It can process input from four Wii controllers at once.
As far as a gaming console goes, the Nintendo Wii offers the general game play that is to be expected as well as a few extras. The Nintendo Wii is small and neat and can be used lying flat or raised on its side depending on the amount of space available. One of the biggest attractions of the Nintendo Wii features is the fact that it can play Gamecube games and allows Gamecube controllers and memory cards to be used. This means that gamers will still get to play their old Gamecube games on their new Nintendo Wii.
The main Nintendo Wii feature that is offered is the new wireless controls. They are supplied with the Nintendo Wii but normal controllers can still be purchased. The wireless controllers require a certain amount of arm actions in order to play the games and are a unique feature of the Nintendo Wii. The controller itself looks like a remote control for a television and includes a small speaker and four blue lights which indicate which number controller it is. The controllers require an external sensor bar to be placed near the television screen in order to work.
Do Nintendo Wii Features Match its Rivals?
Although the Nintendo Wii has some features, it does not have as many as the leading competitors which have disappointed a number of prospective fans. Alone, it is a decent enough console and the Nintendo Wii features that are available add to the whole experience but if compared to rival consoles, the Nintendo Wii is lacking in features. The crowning feature for the Nintendo Wii is the controllers but they alone are not enough to attract and keep gamers interested. Not everyone is interested in extra features however, and Nintendo Wii certainly has no problem selling consoles and games.
The online aspects of the Nintendo Wii are key features as system updates and news will be readily available for gamers. The virtual console means that games from previous Nintendo consoles can be played on the Nintendo Wii and as the library of games available will no doubt be increasing rapidly, it is a feature of the Nintendo Wii that has gamers intrigued with the console. Gamers are also encouraged to create personal avatars called Mii which are basically a record of whom each gamer is and can be downloaded to the controllers and used at a friend's house if needed. It is features like this that will keep the Nintendo Wii in the console market race.
